In May 2026 the National Mikey Powell Memorial Family Fund (NMPMFF) will be announcing the nominations process for the second Annual Gala Dinner & Campaigners Awards.

Tippa Naphtali, NMPMFF founder and Development & Fundraising Manager, said;

"These awards recognise the efforts of grassroots individuals, groups and organisations that have developed or led on initiatives supporting those that have been affected by state custody deaths and killings, and have also demonstrated a significant commitment to making change and raising awareness."


The 2026 award event will be supported by 4WardEverUKThe People's Tribunal on Police KillingsNaphtali & Associates, and others to be announced.


The 2026 activists campaign awards will be in the following categories:

  • Benjamin Zephaniah Literary Award
  • Pauline Campbell Systems Change Award
  • Gilly Mundy Family Advocacy Award
  • Joy Gardner Arts & Education Award
